Kia Design have completed a recently purchased penthouse apartment, in the leafy heart of Brompton, is to be redecorated and furnished to create a welcoming family home. The property, spread over 3 floors offers 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, dramatic stairwells and an open-plan living space with generous roof terrace and views extending over the iconic Brompton Cemetery. The current interior includes some dated features, badly designed storage and limited architectural detailing.
The communal areas are stylish and well maintained. Kia Designs will design and decorate the flat to the client’s taste, incorporating lots of bold, bright colour, soft textures and layered styling to create a comfortable and easily maintained home inspired by the gorgeous inspiration provided by Haifa and Mohammed. The focus will be on the family spending time together whilst visiting over the summer months, rather than entertaining guests and visitors.
The main goal is to inject a feeling of ‘home’ for the clients and their children, providing a space that is beautifully decorated and ready to move into. The current storage will be rejigged to better suit the client’s lifestyle. The tight entrance space will provide a stylish welcome to the flat, the small bedroom beyond will become an inviting vista and a bedroom for Yasmeen. The stairwells and hallways will benefit from a bold colour scheme, that will better suit the current warm wood flooring and highlight the impressive gallery space with selected artwork.
The Master Bedroom layout will remain largely the same, but the built-in storage will be refreshed and made to look sleek and modern. Additional storage will be provided in the bathroom. The 3rd bedroom will be a haven for Kalid, Saif and Faisal, with either trundle or bunk bedding provided to maximise floor space. The wardrobe internals here are perfectly viable, but the sliding doors will either need to be put on new tracks or replaced. As the kitchen is exceptionally large for the size of the property, some storage units will be sacrificed for a bench-style dining table inclusion which will still allow a sociable eating space for the family whilst freeing up a large portion of the living room for a more flexible relaxing time.
