When I first saw this Regency Town house in a quiet street, I loved the outside and thought this was going to be an interesting project.

The outside was in poor condition and needed a substantial amount of work to bring it back to the beautiful façade it is now. The render needed replacing in parts, the railings needed repairs and the whole lot needed stripping back and refinishing. We replaced the light over the entrance with a beautiful period style fitting from Jamb which complimented the house perfectly and was a wonderful finishing touch.

The inside of the property had been refinished by a developer to make the property more sellable, fortunately the main period features had been retained which is not always the case. The finish though wasn’t what the client was looking for and we were given a brief to bring back the quality to the interior along with re-space planning in parts.

The work on planning involved providing an en-suite bathroom with walkthrough dressing room to the main bedroom and alterations to the basement area to provide a more satisfactory kitchen and dining area with separate utility area. We also re-planned and fully re-furbished the main house bathroom.

At Basement level all the incoming services are hidden behind specially designed panelling that opens to allow access but creates a much cleaner look to the basement entrance. The same light oak floor is carried through the basement including into the new Kitchen supplied by Polform.

A small downstairs toilet was refurbished with stone basin and en-caustic tiles to the floor.

The main entrance hall was retiled and repainted, fortunately the Regency Architraves, Skirting boards and doors just had to be refinished.

The lighting electrics and heating system did need to be replaced throughout and period cast iron radiators were chosen to compliment the style of décor and the building.

Throughout the refurbishment the quality of the building and its period features were a big consideration, the hand rail was beautiful it had a wonderful curve down to the bottom step without a newel post a lovely detail!

They were also able to design specific pieces of furniture in the sitting room, bedrooms and dressing rooms together with the supply of curtains and soft furnishings.
