So Recently the lovely PR team over at SodaStream sent me one of their machines to help me cut down on my single us plastic usage.
As you have seen from my 2020 posts, I have been trying to cut down and find new ways to reduce my ways from changing my tampons to more eco friendly versions to making my home more eco friendly.

How can a SodaStream help?
According to the house of commons, 13 billion plastic bottles are put into landfill each year. If you actually think about how you drink things, how often is it into a single use plastic bottle you pop into the bin once empty?
We have been doing this for so long now that we see it as the norm. Soon we are going to have more fish in the ocean and IM NOT OKAY WITH THAT.
Soda Bottles Are Some Of The Worst
I’m not going to lie. I drink a lot of cola. Me and my other half can get through a three or four 2L bottles of coke a week and that doesnt even contain the bottles i buy while i’m out or at work.
So How Can I Give Up Single USe Plastics While Still Drinking Fizzy Drinks?
Well theres the main problem. I can easily use resuasble bottles for water and squash but its difficult for fizzy drinks as you cant make your own…
Well here comes the magic SodaStream machine!
How Do You Use A SodaStream?
So I’m a 90’s kid. I understand the fascination of a SodaStream but my parents wouldn’t get us one. Over the years I totally forgot they even existed until their PR company sent me one and OH.MY.LORD I was like a 90’s kid on Christmas. I finally got one and I forgot I even was desperate for one!
You really mean I can make anything fizzy???
I initially thought it would be this difficult process to make my drinks fizzy but in reality it’s so easy I really can’t see why everyone doesn’t have one of these at home?
You just pop the gas canister in the back which will last you around 60 Litres of fizzy pop and go. No power needed. That simple!
As you can see in the video above, you just clip it in full of filtered water and push the button on the top! Then add in your desired flavour and go!
Flavours
So SodaStream offer a huge range of syrups to add to your drinks as well as you being to make up your own. I often add a lot of fruit juice in to give myself a healthier option without any sugar or chemicals!
The My Only Collection

The my only collection is their range of single use bottles, metal straws and fabric shopping bags that help you on the path of reducing single use plastic.
I make sure to fill up my bottle with homemade soda every morning before leaving for work so i’m not tempted to buy a bottle when out and as well as saving me money, its saving the planet.
Since testing out this SodaStream i’ve officially not brought another single use plastic bottle and i’m very proud of myself!
Its 2020 guys. Stop using so much plastic!

I love my soda stream, and yes, it helps the planet, everyone should have one!
I have always been afraid to buy a soda stream because I feared it would make me drink even more soda! I eat mostly organic and very healthy. Soda has been my one downfall, lol.
Think although I have heard a lot about it I have never used it, maybe I should and you finally convinced me!
As an avid soda drinker, you’ve convinced me I need this. Now time to convince my husband lol 🙃
You’re absolutely right. We really need to cut down on our use of plastic. I hardly take soda. Water has always been my major drink.
This is such a cool concept! I too am trying my best to reduce my plastic intake! I’ve made great progress over the past year but still have a ways to go!

I don’t drink soda but this certainly looks like a great alternative to using so many plastic bottles. Always looking for ways to cut down on that type of use. My husband could use one of these tho!
